AN EARLEY entertainer got some magical news this week.

Robert Bone, of Sharpthorpe Close, was accepted into the prestigious Magic Circle after a gruelling interview and audition process.

Robert, pictured left, is a professional magician, doing shows for both adults and children, and he specialises in mind-reading and 'close-up' tricks using traditional props like cards and coins.

He said: "I'm really pleased to be accepted into the world famous Magic Circle. I chose a variety of effects to perform to demonstrate a wide range of skills and also ensured that there was a good amount of fun involved too.

"This obviously paid off as the vote was unanimous and all judges agreed that I passed above the required level in all of the areas being marked."

The Circle, based in a prestigious headquarters in central London complete with its own theatre, library and museum, was formed in 1905 and now has around 1,500 members.

Robert is also a member of the Home Counties Magic Society, which meets once a month at Shinfield.
