THE leader of Tory-run West Berkshire Council has said he believes the Nick Clegg factor has had little impact in the Newbury constituency.

Speaking at tonight's count at Newbury Racecourse, Cllr Graham Jones, said: "The campaign has been very positive.

"I don't want to say too much at this stage but the reception on the doorsteps in Newbury and Lambourn where I have been out canvassing has been very good.

"I think the Clegg-factor has had very little impact."
