THE rebuilding of Reading Station is proving a big hit with Labour's big hitters.
Former party leader Lord Kinnock kicked off the pre-election campaign by praising the redevelopment on his visit to the station in January, Justice Secretary Jack Straw led his visit to the town last month with a speech about the project and on Sunday Transport Secretary Lord Adonis followed suit.
He said after the visit: "It was great to see how the redevelopment at Reading Station is coming along. The funding Labour have put in to this project will increase train capacity by 75% and cater for extra commuter numbers by 2020. The Conservatives will make immediate cuts of £6bn - putting projects like this at risk."
He later joined Reading East candidate Naz Sarkar and Reading West's Anneliese Dodds on a canvassing session in Norcot ward.
