A CYCLIST who attacked youngsters outside a school is being hunted by police.

The schoolboys were on the footpath outside the John Madejski Academy at 7.30pm on Monday, July 10 when the cyclist began shouting at them.

He rode towards the eight young boys who had just finished playing football and shouted at them to get out his way before coming to a stop.

The offender jumped off his bike and attacked two of the boys, before fleeing towards Hartland Road.

Investigating officer, PC Scott Whiteside said: “This was a nasty attack and it was fortunate the victims were not seriously injured however they were both understandably distressed by the incident.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident. If anyone has any information please call Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting incident reference 43170203203.”

The cyclist is a black man aged between 35 and 40. He is around 5ft 10ins tall with a medium build.

He wore blue jeans, grey jumper, black baseball cap and white grey and black Nike Air Max trainers.

He was riding a blue Apollo mountain bike.
