A MURDER investigation will be relaunched 20 years after a woman's body was found burning on a heap of rubbish.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue service were called to the 'Two Bridges' fly tip on near the Thames Water pumping station off the A327.
Arriving at 5.30am on Saturday, November 16, 1996 they found a burning pile of rubbish and, on top of that, the face-down body of a 47-year-old woman.
Thames Valley Police were called to the scene between Arborfield and Shinfield.
They identified the woman as Vera Holland from St Barnabas Road, Shinfield Rise.
Her surviving family, along with the police, will be appealing to the public ahead of the 20th anniversary of the murder.
