A MAN will appear in court today after a bogus policeman robbed and beat two women.

A man wearing clothes that looked like a police uniform knocked on a 26-year-old's door in New Bridge Street on October 23.

She opened the door and found him and another man in plain clothes on her doorstep.

They photographed her home before leaving with an Asus laptop, Huawei tablet, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and an Armani watch.

She was not hurt.

The same day a 40-year-old opened the door of her Napier Road home to three similar men.

They barged inside and handcuffed her before punching her in the face and fleeing the scene empty-handed.

She remains in hospital receiving treatment for injuries to her face.

Stefan-Catalin Dunareanu, 27, of Ilford Lane, Ilford, London appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court this morning, October 31.

He denied one count of causing actual bodily harm, one count of impersonating a police officer and one count of burglary.

The case will be heard at Reading Crown Court on Monday, November 28.
