Crazy Arm - Lock Up Stage on Friday

The roots-punk quartet from Plymouth held their own with the best at Reading Festival on Friday.

Crazy Arm performed tracks from their debut album Born To Ruin during their half hour set on the Lock Up Stage and singer Darren Johns said: "It was fantastic this is why we're here. I lost my voice very quickly and I've got to recover it by Sunday for Leeds with lots of water and cider and whiskey."

Crazy Arm was one of the early acts of the day, taking to the stage at 12.45pm, but nevertheless they managed to get the crowd singing along and dancing.

Darren said: "The reception was amazing although it's hard to gauge it when you're on stage but I think it went really well.

Drummer Simon Marsh added: "It seemed like lots of people were getting into it."

Darren said: "I always think we don't deserve the big stage and should still be playing the tiny stages."

But there was one band that Darren wanted to avoid seeing at all costs - the headliners Guns N' Roses and he said: "I can't stand them! I'm a punk fan and I don't get those bands even though we get compared to them. I just think they're horrible."
