REGISTRATIONS are open to take part in a community bike ride through the leafy streets of Sonning.

On Your Bike (OYB) 2018 was officially launched at Sonning Common Primary School last week.

This year's ride, which sees scores of bikers pedal through country lanes for charity, will take place on Sunday, March 25.

"I’m always delighted by how much enthusiasm there is among local people for On Your Bike,” said OYB founder, Penny Snowden.

“With almost 600 riders of all ages and abilities pedalling with us last year, we can’t wait to see how many people join us this year.”

Anyone who registers before March 8 will be entered into a competition to win a new bike, courtesy of AW Cycles.

Rob Bowden, who works at AW Cycles and will take part in this year's ride, added: "I love cycling. Yesterday I took my sister to Wargrave to teach her how to jump on a BMX, then went to Henley Skate Park to do somersaults, and then I rode my electric bike around Mapledurham Woods.

"I’m a big kid at heart.”

To register, go to www.onyourbikesonningcommon.co.uk

Entry fees and cash raised will be shared between Sonning Common FISH, Sonning Common First Responders and Sue Ryder.
