The end of British Summer Time is upon us!

On Sunday, clocks will be going back. But the question is, will you run or rest? Maybe you’ll relish that lie-in with an extra hour in bed or could it be an additional 60 minutes for your morning run?

The organisers of the Reading Half Marathon will be making the most of the extra hour this weekend, lacing up and enjoying their autumn morning run.

Race Director, Judith Manson says: “With the clock change, we’ll see a lighter start to the day so make the most of this morning sunlight – not only will it help to synchronise your internal body clock and adapt to the new time, but getting your light fix by going for a run or a brisk walk outside will kick start your day, flood your body with endorphins and help you to sleep better the following night.”

The extra hour this Sunday also means you can get signed up for Reading’s world-renowned half marathon, Sunday 18 March. It’s one of the largest and fastest half marathons in the UK – an event not to be missed! Huge crowd support for the full 13.1 miles, musical entertainment, celebrations of our beautiful University grounds and a field of seasoned athletes inspire an awe-inspiring finish inside Madejski Stadium.

15,000 registered runners took part in 2017, from first timers to Britain’s elite. Will you join them at the start line in 2018?
