A MAN had to be rushed to hospital after he was stabbed in the leg in the town centre.
Police were called to Friar Street on Monday afternoon at around 3pm and cordoned off a section near the British Heart Foundation store.
Officers received reports of an altercation and were searching Forbruy Gardens.
It is believed the attack was not random, although no arrests have been made.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police explained: "The victim sustained a stab wound to his leg.
"He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
"A scene watch was in place and officers were searching for the suspects in Forbury Gardens.
"Early enquiries suggest it was not a random attack."
An investigation has been launched and police are appealing for witnesses and information.
