A LAW firm usually involved in handling real life domestic dramas marked this week's anniversary of William Shakespeare's death by announcing its sponsorship of an open air production of the playwright's Henry IV Part One.

Theale-based Tony Roe Solicitors, Divorce & Family Lawyers is backing the Progress Theatre's production, running from Thursday, July 12 until Saturday, July 21, at 7.45pm in the gardens at Caversham Court.

Mr Roe said: "The Progress Theatre has a reputation for high quality, challenging theatre amd we've been involved with its summer production for a number of years. It is a highlight of Reading's cultural calendar."

Meanwhile a member of Mr Roe's staff, administrator Ania Paluszkiewicz, is an ambassador for the Polish language version of Macbeth being performed next month at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. The play, known as Makbet in Polish, is running from May 8-10 in the Globe to Globe Festival, presenting all 37 of Shakespeare's plays in 37 different languages.

Ms Paluszkiewicz said, "This is a very rare opportunity to see a Shakespeare play in the UK in the Polish language".
