Homing in on a market gap
A TEAM of Wargrave-based entrepreneurs have launched a new website aimed at making house-hunting more simple.
Childhood friends Nick Schutz, David Cockrell and James Mortimer were inspired to set up property website Demand4property.com after struggling to find their dream homes.
David Cockrell, marketing manager, said: "The website is unique to the property market and works like a dating website, where potential homebuyers can list their exact requirements and sellers can respond directly if their property matches.
"The initial contact is brokered between both parties through the website, allowing privacy to be maintained."
Since launching in February after two years of planning, the website has received more than 25,000 page views and almost 5,000 visits from users in the UK, America, and Europe. It has also attracted a popular following on social networking site Twitter, with television property experts Sarah Beeney and Kirstie Allsopp showing an interest.
Mr Cockrell added: "The service is free and this is a totally new concept in the property market, and the first to focus solely on buyer demand. Until now, things have been geared towards supply and we felt that this gap in the market should be exploited."
