THIS year's Reading Buses' charity open day will take place on Sunday July 2.

Last year raised more than £6,000 for the good causes and this year Red Balloon Learner Centre will hope the bus fire can do even better.

Chief Executive Martijn Gilbert aid: "We know that the open day is hugely popular and many people love to get the date in their diary as early as possible, hence today’s announcement.

"We haven’t set the theme yet, which last year was ‘Bus of the Future,’ but given that this marks a decade of our open days visitors can be assured that we will have something suitably impressive to attract even more people than ever before.

"The day is staffed by generous employees who give up their day to ensure that the public of Reading have a great time and everything is reasonably priced to raise as much money as possible for the charity of the year."

The public will be welcomed behind the scenes of the travel company and enjoy tours and rides through the bus wash.

Refreshments including barbecues and cake sales, along with a host of games will help keep the crowds entertained.

The Great Knollys Street depot opens it's doors form 11am till 4pm with a shuttle bus from the town centre.
