AN HEROIC youngster called an ambulance when he found his mother having a heart attack.

Andrew Robinson was at home with his two-year-old brother William when he heard his mum cry out.

The four-year-old ran through to the Kitchen last week.

His mum, Stacey Johnson, said: "He asked me if I could make his some toast I went and put it on then it started.

"I felt out of breath and had stabbing pains in my heart.

"He was in the living room I shouted in pain and he came running and asked 'Mum what's wrong?'

"I said my heart hurts and he ran and grabbed the phone. He rang 999 and passed it to me.

"When the paramedics arrived he went and gave them his dad's mobile phone number.

"I knew he was bright but i never realised he was this clever."

Miss Johnson was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital after suffering a 'mild' heart attack. She was given medication which she still has to take.

The youngster had been taken to Whitley Wood fire station with his preschool, Bubbles, two weeks before where he learnt all about the emergency services.

Sarah Trussler, who works at the nursery said: " We visited the local fire station and spoke about how the emergency services can help us.

"Andrew took a particular interest in theme and was very excited to learn more.

"We talked about ringing 999 and who we could get to help us on this number and why we would need to call them."

Miss Johnson, who is recovering at home in Torrington Road, Whitley, said her son had really enjoyed the trip to the fire station.

"He did really well and the firemen were very impressed, they said come back when you're older and we'll give you a job," she said.

"Some times he want to be a fireman some times a policeman and some times iron man. Anything with 'man' in it."

He's been given some extra toy cars for his heroics and is waiting to cash in a trip to a restaurant.
