ROBBERS who threatened a man with a screwdriver are being sought after a 41-year-old was attacked in West Reading.
The man initially had his wallet lifted from his pocket by a woman shortly after he parked up in Lorne Street before he tried to chase the thief.
As he followed her he was approached from behind by two men who hit him on the head with a sharp object before punching him in the face and threatening him with the tool as they demanded cash.
He was then able to escape and get back to his car.
The man's wallet was stolen during the ordeal and although he sustained injuries to his head, face and neck, he did not require hospital treatment.
Police have described the woman as white, around 27, and was wearing jeans, a long coat and a head scarf.
The men were also white and spoke with Eastern European accents.
They were both last seen wearing a hat, jeans, small dark coats and masks.
One was around 5ft 5ins tall while the other was slightly taller.
The robbery took place at around 10pm last Tuesday.
Investigating officer, Barbara Dudley from Local CID based at Reading police station, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the description of the offenders or saw anything suspicious in this area at the time.
"If anyone has any information please contact me via the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101."
