TWO teenagers have been targetted in an assault that saw one of them thrown to the ground before being punched and kicked.

The men, both 18, were sat in a parked car in Chatham Place, West Reading, when a black Ford Focus pulled up opposite them.

A trio of men then got out of the vehicle and begun shouting at the two teenagers.

When they too left their vehicle one of them was shoved to the floor while the other was hit as he stood.

The man on the ground was then punched and kicked for several minutes by the three men from the black car before they returned to the vehicle to driver away shortly after 11.30pm last night.

Both teenagers could only describe the attackers at Asian men.

The man who took the brunt of the attack suffered facial and eye injuries and was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment.

The other was uninjured.

Investigating officer Det Sgt William Crowther, from Reading Force CID, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who has any information about what happened."

* A 31-year-old man from Reading was arrested today on suspicion of GBH and is currently in police custody.
