RESIDENTS are being warned of four weeks worth of traffic disruptions as engineers seek to fix water leaks in Tilehurst Road.
Beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, 27) crews from Thames Water will install a set of temporary traffic lights as they dig down to uncover the source of the problem.
Inspectors have spotted and detected a number of leaking pipes along the road and will be excavating in order to undertake preventative repairs.
Becky Trotman, spokesman for Thames Water, said the works would begin close to the junction with Brunswick Hill and continue down the road, heading away from the town centre.
She said: "The lights will initially be outside number 41B and then will be moved to other places along the road as one leak is repaired and the team moves on to the next.
"In total the leak repairs are expected to take around four weeks.
"Letters about the work have been delivered to homes and businesses in the area."
