The rain did its best but it did not dampen the spirits of people who had fun at the Reading Family Fun Day in Prospect Park on Sunday.

Organiser Amy White said that despite the rain the third year of the fun day managed to raise £690 for the British Heart Foundation.

She said: "I would like to thank all the stallholders who came and took part in the day, our volunteers and our sponsors for helping us continue providing a great event for the Reading community.

"We look forward to holding the event and hopefully some sunshine, again in next year."

She said children enjoyed ferret racing, an animal roadshow, tennis zone, circus skills and a number of stalls.

Because of the rain the auction did not go ahead but is now online at facebook.com/readingfamilyfundayauction. The auction is going to run until Sunday 2nd August at 7pm.

So far the annual fun day has raised more than £3,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
