A DEVOTED sister’s fundraising drive paid off after her little brother received specialist life-changing equipment.

Megan Bennett, 17, set up the fundraising page to raise money for the Quest Tricycle which will help improve her younger brother’s mobility.

Finlay Bennett, from Twyford, suffers from a rare condition called agenesis of the corpus callosum, which has prevented the two halves of his brain from fusing together.

On May 22 the ecstatic family took delivery of the Trike, which was bought using funds from their online fundraising page, a friend’s sponsored swim and a generous donation from the David Brownlow Charitable Foundation.

Megan and Finlay’s proud parents, Mr and Mrs Bennett, said: “He was a bit hesitant first time when we put him on it but he loved it.

“His face is completely overwhelmed when he is on it.

“It has blown us away how kind people really are and Megan is absolutely thrilled.

“We picked her up from work and she couldn’t wait to get home and take Finlay outside.

“We can’t wait to get him out on it and put him through his paces.”

Finlay’s condition has left his mobility impaired, meaning he cannot ride a bike, sit or even stand without support.

The specialist equipment will help improve Finlay’s leg muscle condition and his parents hope through the physiotherapy the bike provides it will enable him to stand without aid in future and may even enable him to walk one day.

Megan’s online fundraising page raised £650 in 28 days towards the tricycle and the family expressed their gratitude towards the David Brownlow Charitable Foundation for providing the remaining funds.

The Quest Trike cost around £1,346.
