TALENTED artists will host a special exhibition of their work open to everyone.

Reading Guild of Artists will display their work at in a free exhibition starting this weekend.

The artists are primarily based in Reading but, with a growing membership in Henley, return to the town for their 87th annual exhibition.

Clive Duncan, President of the association said: "Henley’s unique location, its Arts and Literary Festivals and the major artists who have lived and worked here has made the town a special place for exhibiting the creative arts and crafts.

"Just a stone’s throw from Henley’s Market Place and the town’s main thoroughfares, the Old Fire Station Gallery is presenting the RGA’s Annual Exhibition.

"Throughout its -year history the Guild’s role has been to encourage and foster the visual arts and to represent some of the finest work by artists in the Reading and Henley area."

Hooray for Henley gets underway on Saturday, March 18, and runs until Tuesday, March 28, in The Old Fire Station in Market Place. Doors are open between 10am and 4pm.

Sue Evan, from Shiplake, said: “Henley in the summer is an exciting place to live, with Regatta and festivals from June to September.

"In my imagination, it is always sunny and I use strong, bold, bright colours to emphasise the holiday atmosphere of our beautiful river and town.”
