FIREFIGHTERS spent nearly three hours battling a blaze that broke out in a 10 acre field.
Four fire engines and two off-road vehicles were called to the field in Grazeley, south of the M4 at 12pm.
Watch manager Matt Martin at Whitley Wood fire station said the dry weather meant surrounding fields were at risk of also catching fire.
"The field was about 10 acres and roughly 80 per cent of it was on fire," he said.
"It was straw stubble burning but the farmer had left the field and lost control.
"We spent the time damping down and making sure the fire didn't spread because it's very dry at the moment. Hopefully we'll get a spot of rain soon."
Crews from Dee Road, Wokingham Road, and Ascot fire stations were also called to the scene.
