A CONVENIENCE store was cordoned off by police earlier today after cash was taken in the early hours.
Officers from Thames Valley Police were called to the Co-Op on Overdown Road in Tilehurst at around 1.30am on Tuesday.
It is believed that an unknown quantity of money for stolen from the shop during the burglary.
Emergency services attended the scene and police are in the early stages of their investigations.
No arrests have been made.
Eye-witnesses told the Chronicle that the shop was closed for a short period with blue and white tape.
Anyone with any information relating to the incident is asked to call 101.
