A YOUNG boy has been left shaken after he surrendered his bike to a man who threatened to stab him.

The 11-year-old boy was on his push bike outside the Londis shop on Spey Road, Tilehurst when he was approached by a man on Sunday, July 16.

He threatened to stab the boy if he did not hand over his bike.

Although the victim did not see a knife, he quickly gave him his bike and the offender fled the scene.

Police are hoping to find the man responsible and have issued CCTV images of a man in connection with the robbery.

Investigating officer, Police Constable Victoria Driver of the investigation hub based at Reading police station, said: “I would like to speak to the man in these CCTV images as he might have vital information about the incident.

“If you are the man or know who he is please contact police by either calling 101 or visiting your nearest police station and quoting reference 43170209680.

“The bike that was stolen is a white, black and green Carrera mountain bike with 24 inch wheels and seven gears.

“The victim has been left shaken up by the incident, but thankfully he was not physically injured.”
