A FATHER arrested on suspicion of his son's murder has been released without charge.

Daniel Holt died on Wednesday after being found seriously injured in the early hours of the morning.

Now Thames Valley Police officers say his death was not suspicious.

Medics were rushed to Bramshaw Road in Tilehurst at 1.20am and called police to the scene when they found the injured 34-year-old.

Mr Holt was rushed to the hospital where doctors battled to save his life but he sadly died later the same afternoon.

His father, Geoffrey Holt, was arrested on suspicion of grevious bodily harm and then re-arrested on suspicion of murder after the death.

Now the 57-year-old has been released without charge.

A post-mortem examination carried out by the Home Office has found the death was not suspicious and no one else is being sought in relation to the death.

Detective Inspector Stuart Blaik, of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said: “Following an extensive investigation, and in consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, the death is no longer being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.

“I would like to continue to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection to it.

"Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this difficult time.”
