THIS is the man who police believe punched a driver in an unprovoked attack, leaving him with "horrific injuries".

The attack began when he exited an Audi at a road junction and approached his victim, who was driving a Volkswagen Golf.

He then verbally abused the 57-year-old man before punching him multiple times and breaking his glasses.

The victim had to be taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment to a fractured cheekbone and eye sockets.

He has since been discharged.

Anyone who saw the incident is being called on to come forward.

It took place at the junction of Blundells Road and Chichester Road in Tilehurst at around 9.45pm on March 2.

The man who unleashed the punches was driving a white three door Audi with a number plate starting VK14.

He is described as Asian, around 6ft tall, in his thirties, with short dark hair and a short dark beard.

He was wearing a blue tracksuit and spoke with a local accent.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Amy Hickman-Holden, said: “We need the public’s help to try and find the offender who, unprovoked, attacked the victim, leaving him with horrific injuries.

“Do you recognise the man in the E-fit, know someone who has an Audi with a number plate starting VK14, or have any information, no matter how insignificant you think it might be, about the offence? If you do then please contact police by visiting your nearest police station or by calling 101.
