A YOUNG woman was held at knife point  during a failed robbery.

A taxi driver and a woman both stopped as the 19-year-old was threatened on the Berkley Avenue bridge near the A4.

The robber approached his victim at 8.15pm on Monday, November 14.

He is white, afound 5ft 7ins tall with a medium build. He is in his 20s and had stubble on his face.

Case Investigator, Lorna Underwood based at Reading police station, said: “A taxi driver and a woman walking past the incident both stopped before the offender ran off.

"I would like to appeal to both of these witnesses to come forward and help with our enquiries.

“Anyone with any other information please contact me via the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number 101."

The robbers fled the scene empty-handed.
