A MAN has been left with a fractured cheek bone and an injured eye after an assault in east Reading.

The altercation started when he and another man were both driving close to the junction of King's Road and Orts Road.

When the pair got out of their cars the 37-year-old man was assaulted and had to be taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment.

He suffered injuries to his face and eyes.

The attacker is described as Asian, in his thirties, 5ft 5ins tall of a medium build and bald.

He was driving a black BMW series 1.

The two men got out their cars in the middle of the road at around 4pm on Saturday and officers are appealing for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "Police believe other drivers may have seen the incident as both drivers got out of their cars in the middle of the road, meaning other drivers had to go around them.

"If you have any information about the incident please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.

"If you do not want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
