A YOUNG boy has been targetted in a paintball attack which saw multiple shots fired out of flat window.
The 10-year-old was hit in the chest by the pellets while playing football on the pitches of Coley Park Recreation Ground at around 6pm last night.
Multiple shots were heard ringing out and police believe they were fired from the window of neighbouring flat in the Irving Court building.
The boy suffered bruising to his chest but sustained no major injuries and did not require any hospital treatment.
Police described the shooter as wearing a green and black long sleeved camouflage shirt.
PC Stephen Goddard, investigating officer, said: “It is vital that we trace the offender and I would ask anyone who has any information to contact police as soon as possible.
"More than one shot came from the block of flats. Any one of the shots could have caused life changing injuries especially if they had hit a child in the eye."
