AMBULANCE crews were sent to The Orcale shopping centre earlier this afternoon after a female shopper fell and cut her leg on an escalator.
One eye-witness saw medical staff wheeling a stretcher into the shopping mall shortly after 12.20pm.
An ambulance was seen parked outside the rear entrance to The Oracle on Yield Hall Place to deal with the medical emergency.
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 11.59 today with the caller reporting that a female had fallen and cut her leg on an escalator in the shopping centre.
"The ambulance crew at the scene provided initial treatment and then took her to the Royal Berkshire Hospital."
