THIS is a man police want to speak to after an unsuspecting victim was brutally attacked following a game of pool.

The 23-year-old victim left the White Eagle pub on Oxford Road having played a round of pool with a stranger.

After leaving the pub shortly before 11.30pm he was suddenly jumped upon by the man he had played against and another man.

The attackers beat him to the ground and took his wallet, leaving him with cuts and bruises to his face, legs and arms.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "A 23-year-old man was in the White Eagle pub on Oxford Road playing pool with an unknown man, before both men left the venue separately.

"As the 23-year-old was walking on Western Elms Avenue, he was jumped on by the man from the pub and another man. They assaulted him and took his wallet.

"The victim sustained cuts and bruises to his face, legs and arms but did not require hospital treatment.

"His wallet, which contained a quantity of cash and a cards, a Compax mobile phone and a silver neck chain were stolen in the offence."

Police today released CCTV pictures of a man officers believe hold vital clues into the case.
