CARNIVAL spirit made a triumphant return to Reading’s streets this bank holiday for the first time in two years.

The last rounds of Reading’s Carnival had to be cancelled after the group could not find enough funds to organise it.

The Reading Caribbean Cultural Group organised the march, marking the carnival’s 40th year.

A bright colourful procession danced through west Reading ending at Prospect Park for an after-party.

Guests were treated to a raft of musical and dance acts on the stage along with a host more entertainments.

The carnival returned to Reading on Monday, May 29 with hundreds of people watching and joining the party.
