A CONCERNED football fan has warned supporters about parking on an unlit road during evening matches.
The man, who asked not to be named, said people parking on Kirtons Farm Road before heading off to watch Reading FC run the risk of being involved in a serious collision.
He said: "Any member of park staff leaving via the back gate for the day must deal with a line of cars parked along the road.
"As this road is unlit, when the match is over, those who chose to park here will have to risk getting involved in an incident.
"It is for so many reason an unwise idea to park along this road, yet so many people do. Only sheer stupidity would decide that this road is safe to use in this way.
"When something does happen, I wonder how many people will cry out that something should have been done to prevent said incident."
The Chronicle recently revealed Reading FC plans to scrap its matchday parking as part of the Royal Elm Park development.
The club will instead provide buses to and from the town centre for fans to get to Madejski Stadium on matchdays.
