A DRIVER is thought to have lost control of her car causing it to overturn outside a school.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were all called to Hemdean Road in Caversham shortly after 10am on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters reacted to reports of a two-car collision and South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) confirmed at least one person was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Both drivers were able to exit their vehicles before the fire service arrived and the road was blocked while the damage was cleared.

A spokesman for SCAS said: "We were notified by Thames Valley Police control at 10.12am about a two-car collision on Hemdean Road, Caversham, resulting in one vehicle rolling over.

"We sent an ambulance and a paramedic team leader to the incident.

"Both drivers were out of the vehicles on arrival and we took one male patient with minor injuries to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

"The second patient was assessed and discharged at the scene."

A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman added: "Thames Valley Fire Control Service received reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars on Hemdean Road, Caversham.

"Crews from Caversham Road and Windsor were sent to the scene.

"Upon arrival, firefighters found one car overturned, but no people were trapped, so they worked to make the scene safe. They were on the scene for about 20 minutes."
