Heartbreak as wife of sports presenter tragically passes away
Sports presenter Simon Thomas, who lives in Caversham, announced the devastating news today that his wife Gemma (40) has passed away- just three days after she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia.
Taking to Twitter, Simon said he and the couple's eight year old son are heartbroken.
Mr Thomas said his wife had gone to the doctors three times after feeling unwell and was prescribed tablets.
On Monday he took her to Royal Berks, where she was diagnosed. She began chemotherapy on Tuesday.
On Friday he was told Gemma had just hours to live.
The couple had been married since 2005.
Since the former Blue Presenter, 44, announced the news, thousands of people have shared their condolences on social media.
