IF your car is in desperate need of some TLC, then why not visit Caversham Road Fire Station this weekend.

Firefighters will be waiting with their hoses and sponges on Saturday between 10am and 4pm, to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.

Crews from Caversham and Dee Road will be taking donations for The Firefighters Charity.

Jimmy McGuinnity, from Caversham Road Fire Station, said: “Now that we are officially into Spring, it is a perfect time to get rid of any Winter grime and get your car sparkling again.

“All are welcome, so come and visit us on Saturday, April 1 and help us raise as much money as possible for a good cause.”

The Firefighters Charity provides a range of services for fire service personnel and their families, including therapy and rehabilitation for injured firefighters.

Donations will help the charity to continue in the provision of life-enhancing services to the fire and rescue community.

The suggested minimum donation is £5 per car.
