IKEA has reopened after yesterday's fatal accident.
A repairman servicing a hydraulic lift in the delivery bay at the back of the store was killed in the early hours of the morning.
Ambulance, police and fire services were called to the scene but could not save the contractor.
The £10 million store remained shut throughout Wednesday as police investigated the death.
“We are saddened to confirm that this morning a contractor died in an incident at our site,” said Javier Quinones, the deputy retail manager of IKEA UK and Ireland.
“The safety and security of everyone one our premises is always our highest priority and we are now supporting the police with their investigation.
“Our thoughts are with the individual's family at this time.”
The Calcot store reopened at 9.30am this morning.
