Green awards for Reading's parks
FORBURY Gardens has been awarded the Green Flag for the seventh consecutive year following its £3.4m make-over in 2005.
Caversham Court has also picked up the award - which recognises excellence in horticulture, cleanliness, sustainable practices, being welcoming, safety and encouraging community involvement - for the third time since it re-opened in 2009.
Reading Borough Council culture leader, Marian Livingston, said: "We are extremely proud of Forbury Gardens and Caversham Court.
"I am absolutely delighted to hear this news, but not surprised, as anyone who has used these parks will know, they are a joy for all in the town.
"Thank you to everyone for their hard work in maintaining them to their full glory."
