MORE than 100 people turned out to tell their police team their greatest crime concerns when a Neighbourhood Action Group (Nag) relaunched.

A public meeting was held at Highdown School in Emmer Green on Tuesday last week to restart the Upper Caversham Nag, covering the Caversham North and West neighbourhoods.

The top three priorities were agreed as road traffic issues including speeding, cycling on the pavement and traffic volume, burglary including cycle thefts and environmental issues including litter, lighting and noise.

Caversham's Inspector Penny MacKenzie said after the meeting: "We had a lively discussion with residents raising their issues and concerns about the area and this resulted in the three priority issues being identified.

"I'm pleased the community has had its say and that we have established a Nag to tackle these problems."

"The first formal meeting of the new group will be on Tuesday, March 23, between 6-8pm at Highdown School and anyone wishing to attend should contact me on 08458 505 505 or email penny.mackenzie@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk

"The first meeting will involve a discussion regarding the priorities and how the group will work together with organisations such as Thames Valley Police, residents' associations and school communities to tackle the issues affecting those living in the local area."
