A DATE has been set for a public meeting to re-launch the Upper Caversham Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG).

NAGs are made up of officials from various organisations and members of the public, who identify and tackle crime issues that worry people the most in one particular police area.

Caversham's police team asked residents which three issues affect their quality of life the most in the Upper Caversham NAG area, which includes Mapledurham, Caversham Heights, Emmer Green and Caversham Park Village.

The top three blights were named as road issues including speeding, cycling on pavements the amount of traffic, burglary, and the state of the environment such as litter, lighting and noise.

The team is hoping for more public feedback to finalise the priorities at a meeting on Tuesday, February 9, from 6-8pm at Highdown School's hall in Surley Row, Emmer Green.

North Neighbourhood PCSO John Hendy said: "Your opinion matters, make it heard. We hopefully will also be able to elect a chairman and vice chairman to take the NAG forward into next year."

There is also action on the Lower Caversham NAG front, with the team hoping to update the NAG's crime concerns.

A detailed survey is poised to be circulated to set new priorities for Lower Caversham and public meetings to agree them will be announced early next year.

A flyer about the NAG has been delivered to homes across the neighbourhood, it should be returned to the police office in Church House, 59 Church Street, to nearby Caversham Library or to Amersham Road Community Centre.

There is also a chance to speak to police officers about general crime concerns at a surgery on Tuesday, December 29, 6-7pm at the police office.
