POLICE are appealing for help to trace vandals who started a blaze after throwing a firework through a rear window at an Emmer Green supermarket.
Staff arriving for work at Budgens in Cavendish Road on Friday, November 6, found the window frame damaged by fire which had burned itself out before causing any major problems.
Caversham-based Inspector Penny McKenzie confirmed the incident is being treated as arson and has asked for help from witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously near the store or in the Emmer Green Precinct overnight on Bonfire Night.
