LICENSING officials have raised serious concerns over immigrants at a restaurant after bosses submitted a fresh application to the council.
Grand Palace, formerly China Palace, received a backlash from Reading Borough Council and police after 11 illegal workers were found over six years.
The proposed licence holder has a conviction for entering the country illegally and officers say this clearly undermines the licensing objectives.
Councillors elected to revoke the licence for the Oxford Road eatery in November last year and a fine of £60,000 was handed out by Immigration Enforcement.
The council's licensing sub-committee will meet on April 24 to discuss the plans, with representations from police and the environmental health team.
