THE CAUSE of a blaze which saw a man suffer injuries was at the centre of a police investigation today (Saturday).
Emergency services were called to a fire in Burbidge Close, Calcot, shortly after 11.30pm.
A police investigation has been launched and officers are yet to rule out arson.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "The cause of the fire is still to be established so anyone with any information please call 101 and quote reference 1753 (13/4)."
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) has also been approached for a comment.
A spokesman for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "At 11.32pm on Friday, 13 April, firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a flat in Burbidge Close, Calcot.
"Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Dee Road, Caversham Road and Wokingham Road were sent to the scene.
"Upon arrival firefighters found a fire in a ground floor bedroom. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using two hose reels, before ventilating the property.
"Two casualties were placed in the care of SCAS. Crews were on scene for about an hour."
