A THIEF broke into a garage and made off with a set of tools belonging to an elderly man in the early hours.

The victim, a 68-year-old man, lost a blue tool bag and a distinctive air compressor on wheels at around 1am on Friday.

An unknown offender broke into the garage on Nightingale Road, Woodley and stole various tools, including a Dewalt battery powered drill in a black case with two batteries and charger.

A Bambi air compressor on wheels was also taken from the garage. This is white in colour with Bambi written on the side in green.

The offender is described as a white man with a slim build, wearing black clothing with his jacket hood up.

Investigating officer PC Paul Bentley, of Loddon Valley Investigation Hub, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area at this time.

“We believe that the man may have been pulling the air compressor down Nightingale Road, or Drovers Way, so I am keen to speak to anyone who has any details or may have heard this taking place.

“If you have any details which you think could help this investigation, please call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”
