A GANG assaulted a teenager after stealing his bike and rucksack, it has been revealed.

The 18-year-old victim was walking in Sol Joel Park on Church Road when he was approached by three men at around 8pm on Monday, September 18.

His bike and rucksack were stolen and the offenders are believed to have fled the scene in the direction of Wokingham Road.

The teenager then caught up with the gang and attempted to retrieve the stolen items, but he was punched by one of the men.

He sustained minor injuries and officers from Thames Valley Police would like to hear from anyone who may have more information on the incident.

A spokesman confirmed: "TVP received a report of a robbery in Sol Joel Park, Reading, which occurred at around 8pm on Monday.

"It was reported that three males approached the victim as he was walking in Sol Joel Park.

"The victim managed to catch up with the offenders on Wokingham Road and was then punched."
