WORKERS from a central Reading office block were evacuated from the building after a blaze broke out earlier today (July 7).
Fire crews from Caversham and Wokingham and Dee Road rushed to Minster Street by The Oracle shortly after 9am after components in the generator room of the Telephone Building caught alight.
A spokesman for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "At 9.18am on Friday July 7, Thames Valley Fire Control Service received reports of the fire alarm sounding at a commercial property on Minister Street, Reading.
"Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road and Dee Road fire station were sent to the scene.
