ON Saturday, afternoon, May 15 at 2.15pm I intended to cross Southampton Street when it was clear of traffic.

When I started to cross both of my knees gave way causing me to fall back on to the ground.

I tried to pick myself up when form nowhere three lovely angels came and helped me onto my feet.

One of them was a lady who was an NHS nurse who said I should go to the hospital for a checkup.

I said I was ok and I would make my way back to the station but was told they would not let me go on my own.

One said; ‘I’m going to take you to the station in my car’ which she did.

She parked in the underground station carpark and took me to the station staff who provided me with a chair and a glass of water.

Then another angel appeared with a wheelchair who said she would take me across the footbridge to the London platform to catch the Paddington train and make sure I was on it.

In all my 87 years I have never known such care, affection, kindness and love given to a complete stranger and it was much appreciated.

Thank you to all four ladies for your care.
