A MOTORIST had a lucky escape after a car crashed and flipped onto its roof last night.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Man's Hill, Mortimer, shortly before 6.30pm to reports of a collision.

When they arrived, it immediately became clear a car had careened off the road and flipped over onto its roof.

Paramedics arrived and treated a single patient at the scene but they did not need to go to hospital.

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said: "We got a call at 6.18pm to reports of a car which had gone onto its roof.

"We sent one rapid response vehicle and a single ambulance crew and they were assessing one patient at the scene.

"The patient did not require hospital treatment."
