WORK has began on restoring the roof at Reading's synagogue.
The new roof follows a string of improvements to the Goldsmid Road site including a new oven, hob and surfaces in the kitchen.
The latest project is expected to last around 18 weeks but services will continue to run as usual.
Sarah Firsht, president, said: "It’s an exciting time for the community to have this key development work. We are grateful for the grant from the Government-funded Listed Places of Worship: Roof Repair Fund, which enabled us to undertake the roof project.”
