THUGS who surrounded a pair of teenagers before drawing a blade and demanding their property were at the centre of an investigation today.

One of the 16-year-old victims suffered minor injuries following a frightening attack in Whitley last week.

The two friends were walking on Basingstoke Road when another group of boys pounced.

One of the attackers then drew a knife and ordered the victims to hand over their belongings before launching a vicious attack.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: “The victims, two 16-year-old boys, were with a group of friends in Whitley at about 12.15am on Sunday February 19 “Another group of boys followed the victims along Basingstoke Road to the junction of Hartland Road.

“The group surrounded the victims and then one of the offenders produced a knife before demanding property.

“The victims were then assaulted by the offenders, who stole a bag containing a mobile phone, wallet, cash, a bank card, a driving licence and tobacco.”

One of the boys suffered facial injuries in the attack but did not need to go to hospital.
