BUS and coach stops near to the Sainsbury store in Calcot will be relocated for six weeks as of next week.

The stops known as 'Calcot Sainsburys' or 'Calcot Interchange' will move to lay-bys beside the A4 due to works at the nearby IKEA development, scheduled to begin on October 14.

The concrete area where the buses and coaches currently stop will be re-constructed by IKEA's contractor, which will take six weeks.

During the works, local buses towards Reading and Tilehurst will use the long lay-by on the A4 just to the east, Reading side of Pincents Lane.

Buses towards Theale, Thatcham and Newbury will continue to serve the 'Mayfield Avenue' lay-by stop on the opposite side of the A4.

Coaches, including National Express, have been asked to use the ‘Mayfield Avenue’ shelter stop, beside the next roundabout closer to Reading.

Work dates are subject to weather and other factors, and may change or be extended.
